Side of Bok Choy

Bok Choy is put into some of my favorite asian dishes.  Over the last year I have been cooking with it more and more.  Mr.Picky actually prefers it in stir-fry but I have started preparing it on its own as a side dish.

There is no rocket science here, and this is probably something everyone has already tried.  I don’t care though, going to share it anyway.  If you have never had bok choy or want to try cooking with it, do it.  I love to challenge myself with new foods or really with anything in life I have never tried.  Take some baby steps and step out of the box of vegetables.

Side of Bok Choy:

  • 1 large head of Bok Choy or three head of baby bok choy
  • 1-2 Tbs of Teriyaki sauce (pick your favorite or what you have around)

Of course you need to wash your bok choy well.  Then separate the stems and leaves with a knife.

The stems and leaves take different times to cook, so chop them up and keep them separate.Side of Bok Choy

In a non stick pan saute the stems with just a touch of grape seed oil.  Over medium-high heat it took me about 5 minutes for them to become slightly tender.

Toss in your greens and cook a minute more.  Drizzle on your sauce and toss it all together.

Eat it, it’s good for you!
